Happy September everyone!
September is turning out to be a super exciting month for me this year; I have tons of fun stuff lined up: a staycation with my love, a trip to Pittsburgh to do some resilience training, and OF COURSE, I’m hosting my first retreat!
I’ve noticed that many people on social media are doing some kind of 30 day challenge this month. It seems to be the month for fresh starts and new beginnings since summer is winding down and we’re not all drained and un-motivated from the soul-sucking heat. I feel it too. In addition to some emotional cleansing and detoxifying I’ve been doing, I’ve committed to walking every day for the next 30 days to work back up to my regular distance of 5-10 miles a day. I’ve been “training” by doing small increments of walking every day since mid-August, and adding one corrective a day back into my routine. I’m losing weight and feeling so much better already.
I’m starting the month off with a few short walks today. I tend to sabotage myself by trying to do
too much all at once, so I’m starting small. This is huge progress for me! I really want to create sustainable goals and habits, so I’m doing my best to be super gentle with myself, and take things one small step at a time. Yay me! This is something I challenge all of my coaching clients to do, and I practice what I preach, y’all!
